Turning Capabilities
Every part we make is turned on a lathe. Tight tolerances, automated production, and a shop built around OEM volume demands.
Lathe-Only. By Design.
Wasatch Precision runs CNC turning exclusively. No milling, no grinding, no sheet metal. That focus means our equipment, tooling, fixturing, and process knowledge are all pointed at one thing: producing the best possible turned part.
Our lathes are equipped with live tooling, sub spindles, and bar feeders — the combination that lets us complete complex parts in a single cycle and run lights-out through the night.
What We Run
CNC Turning
High-volume and prototype CNC turning on modern automated lathes. We hold tight tolerances run after run, with first-article inspection and documented process controls on every job.
- OD and ID turning
- Facing and chamfering
- Grooving and parting
- Taper and contour turning
Multi-Axis Turning with Live Tooling
Cross-holes, flats, keyways, and milled features completed in the same setup as the turning operation. Fewer setups means less handling, less fixturing error, and better part-to-part consistency.
- Radial and axial live tooling
- Cross-drilling and cross-milling
- Faster production with fewer setups
- Lower costs through process
Thread Cutting
Single-point threading to any standard or custom specification. Internal and external threads cut to precise class fits with consistent lead and form across the full production run.
- UN / UNF / UNC
- Metric (M and MF)
- ACME and trapezoidal
- Custom thread forms
Sub Spindle Operations
Our lathes pick off the part with a sub spindle and complete all backwork — facing, chamfering, threading, grooving — without operator intervention. One cycle, both ends done.
- Automatic part transfer
- Full backwork in-cycle
- No re-chucking error
- Lights-out capable
